Enko Education was founded in 2013 to give more young Africans the chance to get a good international education.

In 2014, the first school run by the Enko Education group opened in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Since then, its network of international schools in Africa has grown to include 14 schools in 8 Sub-Saharan African countries.

Enko started International Baccalaureate programs in five African countries, so it now says it has the largest network of International Baccalaureate schools on the continent.

Enko Education is a network of international high schools in Africa that help students get ready for top universities around the world.

It is also an organization that runs a network of high schools in Africa that teach students about the world and help them get into colleges and universities all over the world. 

The company’s schools use an advanced educational method based on a curriculum that is known all over the world, and they offer their services to kids at a lower cost so that they can go and learn.

Students can use Enko Study as a stepping stone to get into top colleges for more education. 

There is an International Baccalaureate program, a primary and middle school program, a workshop and tutorial series, help with the application process, help with organizing one’s schedule, access to wireless internet in the classrooms, and more.

How it Works

Their university advice program also helps Enko students with their college and university applications.

It helps students find the best colleges and universities, get into those schools, and get money to pay for their education once they get there. 

They also give their students a great education that focuses on getting them ready for success in a globalized world while keeping Africa at the center of their lessons.

Learners in Enko Education’s program are going to prestigious schools like Yale University (USA), Sciences Po (France), the University of Toronto (Canada), African Leadership University (Rwanda), and many more.

Additionally, Enko Education has 15 schools in 15 different African countries. Over the next five years, they plan to open a total of 30 new schools in at least 20 more African countries. 

Founders

Eric Pignot

Eric Pignot wants Enko Education to be sub-Saharan Africa’s top private international education provider.

Before that, he was a consultant at BearingPoint France, where he advised telecom companies all over the world (ex Arthur Andersen Consulting).

Eric got his Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Cyrille Nkontchou

Cyrille NKontchou is a co-founder and managing partner of Enko Capital. He runs the Enko Africa Private Equity Fund and the Enko Africa Debt Fund, which are two of the most successful investment vehicles in Africa.

He also started and is the Non-Executive Chairman of Enko Education, which runs schools from kindergarten to high school all over Africa.

Investors & Funding Rounds

Liquid Africa

Enko Education got $1.4 million in Pre-Series B funding from a group of large private and institutional investors.

An investment bank called LiquidAfrica helped make the deal happen and it was done in record time making it a lot more popular than expected.

The current round was raised in only two months, which is an impressive feat that shows how interested investors are in its unique way of learning.

With these resources, Enko Education will be able to put its strategic plan into action and help 60,000 kids in 2,000 schools by 2026.

Edmodo: When students from all over the world join the Edmodo network, they get access to people and tools that will help them grow as people and as students.

Educate Online: This is a place where international students can connect with reputable online colleges and universities in the UK, the US, and Canada.

iXperience: Through the iXperience program, courses can be taken for credit and last for a total of six weeks in Lisbon, Cape Town, Tel Aviv, and Berlin during the summer.
